Overview
The XCMG XC958EV-ULTRA is a pure-electric wheel loader developed as a fully upgraded successor on XCMG’s third-generation electric loader platform. It combines an integrated dual-travel-motor drive with XCMG’s newly developed upgraded control system for stronger working performance, and a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that supports dual-gun fast charging.
XCMG positions it for logistics, ports, material yards and sanitation work — duty cycles where zero local emissions, low energy cost and diesel-independent operation matter most.

Key Features
Power System
- Travel motors: upgraded dual-motor integrated travel drive with high torque and fast response; the motors mount integrally on the rear frame, cutting high-voltage cabling and hydraulic lines across the articulation joint, with protective plates underneath for harsh conditions. FNR direction switching with throttle-driven stepless speed control.
- Axles: XCMG-built heavy-duty axles with an optimised, larger-section housing (10% higher load and bending capacity), four-planet-wheel hubs, a 6-tonne-class front axle, positioning pins on the axle mounts and three-section heavy-duty drive shafts.
Hydraulics
- Dual-pump confluence fixed-displacement system with full pilot control of the working implement for precise, light operation; FNR joystick with a one-touch button to raise hydraulic motor speed and speed up work cycles; load-sensing steering; international-standard seals throughout.
Electrical System
- LFP battery with dual-gun fast charging; BMS-controlled battery thermal management.
- LCD touch screen showing state of charge, motor and controller temperatures, motor speed and battery temperature; fully sealed connectors and an integrated enclosed fuse box for easier inspection and maintenance.
Cab
- Micro-pressurised cab, spacious with wide visibility; high-performance dual-rail suspension seat and multi-adjustable steering column; follower-type control console with air conditioning, radio, storage, cup holder and cool box; noise, dust and heat insulation throughout.
Frame & Working Equipment
- Heavy-duty front and rear frames with key structures verified by finite-element analysis; enlarged spacing of the upper/lower articulation pins, double tapered-roller bearings at the lower pin, and a rigid front frame giving the boom and cylinders a solid mount.
- Z-bar linkage (single rocker, short tie-rod, horizontally mounted boom cylinders) with low dump shock; two-stage dust sealing at main pivots; wear-resistant steel in high-wear bucket areas; pins lubricated from the flange with no drillings.
- Service brakes: hydraulically controlled dry caliper discs on all four wheels; hydraulically controlled parking brake.
- Electric rear-tilting hood opens to 65°, exposing the multi-in-one controller, battery BMS, water-cooling unit, battery and PDU fuses for one-stop service access.
Applications
Zero-emission loading in logistics hubs, ports, material yards and municipal sanitation fleets — particularly where dual-gun fast-charging infrastructure is available and multi-shift electric operation replaces diesel.
