Shipping Excavators from China to Nigeria

Most excavators we ship to Nigeria arrive through Lagos (Apapa or Tin Can Island) or Onne Port in Rivers State. Two shipping methods dominate the China–Nigeria machinery trade:

• RORO (roll-on/roll-off): the machine is driven onto the vessel and secured on deck or below deck. This is the standard method for 20-ton and larger crawler excavators and usually offers the best balance of cost and handling safety.
• Flat-rack container: mini excavators up to about 8 tons can be secured inside containers or on flat racks, which can simplify port handling and protect the machine from salt spray.

Transit time from major Chinese ports such as Shanghai, Lianyungang and Qingdao to Lagos typically runs 25–35 days depending on the sailing schedule. Before shipment we clean and inspect each machine, take photos and video for your confirmation, and share the loading details with you.

Import Documentation for Nigeria

Nigeria operates a destination-inspection import regime. Depending on your consignment, common requirements include Form M, the bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list and SONCAP-related documentation. Duty rates and levies change over time, so we always recommend working with a licensed clearing agent at your destination port to confirm the current landed-cost picture.

From our side, we prepare the complete export document set, including the bill of lading, commercial invoice and packing list, and we can coordinate with your forwarder or clearing agent so the paperwork lines up before the vessel departs.

• 7–8 t mini excavators for utility trenches, drainage, fencing foundations and tight urban sites where transport between locations is frequent.
