Popular Crane Models in Philippines
These are the cranes we quote most often for Philippines. Because there is no origin-side conformity certificate here, the constraint is port choice rather than certification — tell us which island the machine will work on and we will match it to the right landing point.
Crane XCMG QAY200 All-Terrain Crane
A 200-ton all-terrain crane with a 61 m six-section main boom, 96 m maximum system height and six-axle hydro-pneumatic carrier — built for power, petrochemical and heavy lifting projects.

How Cranes Clear Customs in the Philippines
This is the point where the Philippines differs most from West and East Africa: used construction machinery is not subject to a mandatory origin-side conformity certificate comparable to SONCAP or PVoC. Clearance runs through the Bureau of Customs on standard commercial documents, which makes document accuracy, HS classification and importer accreditation the deciding factors rather than a third-party certificate.
What the importer has to do
- 1 Importer accreditation. A Tax Identification Number and registration with the Bureau of Customs. First-time importers need this in place before the shipment arrives.
- 2 Choose the discharge port first. Across an archipelago, the port decides the inland leg. Landing in Manila and trucking to a Mindanao project costs far more than routing direct to Davao.
- 3 Goods declaration and assessment. Lodged through the customs electronic system, with duty and VAT assessed on the declared value.
- 4 Release and island leg. Release, then the inter-island or inland movement, which is the variable part of the timeline.
Documents customs will ask for
- Commercial invoice
- Prepared by us, with machine specification, serial number and price.
- Packing list
- Prepared by us, with dimensions, weight and centre of gravity for securing.
- Bill of lading
- Issued by the carrier; originals released against the agreed payment terms.
- Certificate of Origin
- Issued by CCPIT, confirming Chinese manufacture.
- Form E (where claimed)
- Used when the importer wants to claim preferential treatment under the ASEAN–China free trade arrangement. Whether it applies to your HS code is the importer’s call with the broker.
- Importer accreditation
- Importer-side TIN and Bureau of Customs registration.
Ports and transit
- Manila (North Harbor / South Harbor)
- Default for Luzon, Metro Manila and the northern half of the country.
- Cebu
- Serves the Visayas — Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Panay and Leyte.
- Davao
- Gateway to Mindanao and the right landing point for Surigao and Compostela Valley mining work.
- Subic Bay
- Used for free-zone staging where a buyer wants to hold machines before final delivery.
Indicative transit from major Chinese ports to Manila is short by regional standards and is commonly quoted in a one-to-two week band. Inter-island connections are what usually extend the door-to-site timeline, not the ocean leg.
What is driving equipment demand in the Philippines
- The Build Better More infrastructure programme
- Nickel, copper and gold mining in Mindanao and Palawan
- Quarry and aggregates operations across Luzon
- Real estate and mixed-use construction in Metro Manila and Cebu
- Flood control, drainage and river-bank works
Check before you commit
Two claims circulate in Chinese-language trade posts that we could not corroborate against any primary source and that we therefore do not publish as fact: a mandatory SGS pre-shipment inspection for used equipment, and a right-hand-drive rule applied to construction machinery. Confirm the current position with a licensed Philippine customs broker before shipping.
Sources and review date
- Bureau of Customs, Philippines
- ASEAN–China free trade area certificate of origin rules
Reviewed 2026-10-18. This section describes the regulatory framework that applies to imports into the Philippines. It is not a statement that any particular machine is approved, certified or exempt, and it is not a customs ruling. Import rules change frequently — confirm the current requirements with a licensed clearing agent or customs broker before you ship.

What Makes Up the Landed Cost in the Philippines
- FOB machine price, which moves with configuration and attachments
- Ocean freight to the port you nominate — Manila, Batangas, Cebu or Davao
- The inter-island leg, which is often larger than buyers expect
- Marine insurance
- Import duty and VAT assessed on entry
- Customs broker and clearance fees
Ask us for a quotation that shows each component clearly, so you can compare offers on the same basis.
Shipping Truck and All-Terrain Cranes to Manila, Cebu and Davao
Truck cranes and all-terrain cranes travel by RORO as self-propelled units, but larger models commonly need:
- Partial disassembly of jibs, extensions or counterweight sections
- Flat-rack or breakbulk arrangements for the heavier all-terrain classes
- Load-securing engineering approved by the carrier
Port choice matters more here than in most markets: Manila for Luzon, Batangas for sites south of the capital, Cebu for the Visayas, Davao for Mindanao. A crane landed in Manila and barged to Mindanao costs materially more than one routed to Davao directly, and the inland approvals for an out-of-gauge move are your problem, not the carrier’s.
Matching Crane Capacity to Philippine Lift Plans
Two classes cover most Philippine enquiries:
- XCMG QAY200 all-terrain crane — 200-ton class, multiple counterweight configurations, strong mobility between sites.
- SANY STC2400C8-8 truck crane — 240-ton class with a long main boom for power-plant, bridge and industrial work.
Tell us your maximum load, lifting height and working radius. The truck crane selection guide shows why working radius, not tonnage, is usually the deciding number.
What Philippine Crane Buyers Ask Us First
- Is there a pre-shipment inspection to arrange? No. Unlike Nigeria or Kenya, there is no mandatory origin-side conformity certificate for used construction machinery here. Clearance runs through the Bureau of Customs on standard commercial documents, and importer accreditation is what you need in place before the vessel arrives.
- Which port? The one nearest the lift. Moving a 200-ton class crane between islands is a project in itself.
- Can the boom and counterweight travel on the same vessel? Usually yes. We price them as explicit lines so nothing surfaces later as a change.
Where These Cranes End Up in the Philippines
Cranes from this range are working on power-plant construction, bridge girder erection for highway programmes, high-rise building work in Metro Manila and Cebu, telecom tower installation, and plant maintenance turnarounds.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you ship a truck crane from China to the Philippines?
Truck cranes ship by RORO or by flat-rack depending on the model, boom configuration and carrier. Some configurations require partial disassembly of jibs or counterweight. We confirm the exact shipping plan and freight estimate with your quotation.
How long does shipping from China to Manila take?
Transit time from major Chinese ports to Manila typically ranges from 7 to 14 days depending on the sailing schedule. Cebu and Davao services may take slightly longer or require transshipment via Manila. Crane shipments may need extra port handling time depending on configuration.
What documents do I need to import a crane into the Philippines?
There is no origin-side conformity certificate for used construction machinery here, unlike Nigeria or Kenya. What you need is importer accreditation with the Bureau of Customs — a tax identification number and registration — plus the standard commercial set: bill of lading, commercial invoice and packing list. We issue the certificate of origin and Form E where your broker advises it applies to your HS code.
Which crane capacity is most popular in the Philippines?
Demand in the Philippines spans from 25-ton class machines for building work to 200-ton-plus cranes for power, refinery and bridge projects. The 200–240 t class covers major project work. Tell us your maximum load, lift height and radius, and we will recommend a configuration.
Do you ship to ports outside Manila?
Yes. Besides Manila, we can arrange delivery to Batangas, Cebu, Davao and other Philippine ports depending on sailing schedules. Tell us your preferred port and project location, and we will recommend the most cost-effective routing.
