Overview
The XCMG QAY200 is a 200-ton all-terrain crane combining road-mobile six-axle carrier technology with high lifting performance. It is designed for demanding projects where the crane must travel between sites and then deliver precise heavy lifts — power-plant construction, wind-farm erection, petrochemical maintenance, bridge work and large industrial installations.
The carrier uses a Daimler V8 engine, ZF transmission, KESSLER axles and full hydro-pneumatic suspension with crab-steering capability. The superstructure is driven by a Volvo upper engine and features a six-section U-shape main boom, lattice jib combinations and 65 t of combined counterweight.

Dimension Diagram

The dimension diagram in the source brochure includes detailed travel and stowed dimensions with the 385/95R25 (14.00R25) tyre specification.
Carrier / Chassis
- Frame: XCMG-designed anti-torsion box-section frame made of high-strength steel with a full covered walkway.
- Outriggers: four H-shaped outriggers with two-stage horizontal and vertical hydraulic extension, one-way valves and two-way hydraulic locks on vertical cylinders.
- Carrier engine: Daimler OM502LA.III/3 V8, water-cooled electronically controlled diesel, rated 390 kW @ 1,800 rpm, maximum torque 2,400 N·m @ 1,200 rpm; fuel tank 400 L.
- Transmission: imported ZF electro-pneumatic transmission with 16 forward and 2 reverse gears and retarder braking.
- Transfer case: KESSLER mechanical transfer case with emergency steering oil pump.
- Axles: six KESSLER high-strength axles with pneumatically controlled drum brakes.
- Suspension: full hydro-pneumatic suspension with automatic leveling, suspension lifting and elastic/rigid mode switching.
- Steering: mechanical plus hydraulic-power steering with crab-mode capability by lifting axles 3 and 4.
- Brakes: dual-circuit air service brakes on all wheels, spring-energy parking brake, engine exhaust and retarder braking.
- Operator cab: full-width steel cab with suspension mounting, height-adjustable air-floating driver seat, folding double co-driver seat/bunk, electric-heated mirrors and climate control.
Superstructure
- Upper engine: Volvo TAD720VE in-line six-cylinder EFI diesel, rated 162 kW @ 2,100 rpm, maximum torque 854 N·m @ 1,400 rpm; optional Deutz (Dalian) BF6M1013ECP engine rated 173 kW @ 2,100 rpm.
- Hydraulic system: variable pumps driven by the upper engine for hoisting, luffing and telescoping; closed-circuit pump for slewing; large-bore valves matched with variable piston pumps for smooth starts and stops; air-cooled oil cooler.
- Operation: electric-proportional pilot control with PLC integrated intelligent control; all crane movements are operated from two joysticks with stepless speed regulation.
- Winches: main and auxiliary winches use grooved drums, planetary reducers and constant-closed brakes with balance valves; imported wire rope provides high-speed light-load and low-speed heavy-load operation.
- Slewing: three-row roller external-gearing slewing ring with double slewing mechanisms for 360° continuous rotation, power or free slew and stepless regulation.
Boom and Jib
| Configuration | Length |
|---|---|
| Main boom (6-section U-shape) | 13.8–61 m |
| Lattice/box jib (2 sections, 0°/15°/30°) | 11.55–20 m |
| With 2-section lattice extension | Up to 28 m / 36 m |
The single-cylinder pinning telescoping system allows multiple boom-length combinations, and a single-top pulley is available for single-line work with the same rated performance as the 11.55 m jib at 0° offset.
Counterweights
| Working mode | Total counterweight | Combination |
|---|---|---|
| Mode 1 | 65 t | A + B×2 + C + D×2 |
| Mode 2 | 42 t | A + B×2 + C |
